Digital wallets like Apple Pay or Google Wallet are provided with tokenized cards. Before a card product can be used with a digital wallet, you must collaborate with BFinance to ensure that all program aspects are in order, properly formatted, and approved for tokenization by the Partner Bank and payment network.

Design guidelines

Card art must adhere to specific guidelines for approval by BFinance and Partner Banks. While some guidelines apply universally to all virtual cards, others are specific to cards issued using Visa or Mastercard. When designing card art, it’s essential to refer to both general and card network-specific guidelines.

Sizes and requirements

  • Hex color format
  • 1536 x 969 pixels

General guidelines

Refer to the following general guidelines when designing tokenized cart art:
  • Digital wallet providers will round the corners of card art and icon images. However, it’s important not to round the corners of these images yourself, as this can lead to «double rounding»
  • Only absolute pixels, not the image resolution (e.g., 72ppi), are relevant.
  • Card art should represent the physical card, but it must not be an actual picture of a physical card.
  • Do not include shading or any 3D elements in your tokenization assets.
  • Card art must not include any of the following variable elements:
    • Cardholder name
    • PAN
    • Expiration date
    • Labels describing embossed/printed attributes
    • Representations of magnetic stripe or EMV chip contacts
    • Static pictures of dynamic elements such as holograms

Design approval

Card design is subject to approval by BFinance and the Partner Bank. Once you’re ready to submit the final artwork, send your card art files to card-art@bfinance.app
